So needless to say I
am going out to the field for my last two changes and im SOOOOOO
STOKED!!!!! I don't know if you remember that one day that I didnt write
like a year ago because we went to visit one of E. Insaurraldes areas,
that is where i am going. Zacaclan is the farthest area away in the
mission and probably the most beautiful. Its the area with caves and
waterfalls and that cool kinds of stuff. It is also the biggest area in
the mission haha I have some towns in my area that are 5 hours away from
Zacatlan City. So the mission has its own 3 branches here where
President Nelson is in charge of them, Zacatlan is one, E Page is going
to be my neighbor in a Branch called Chignahuapan and were sending a
very good ex zone leader to the other branch to try to get them going
cause there is not much that has happened out there. Its going to be
weird getting out of the city of Puebla because I have been in this same
part basically for a year strait. My new companion will be E. Cruz, I
will just be a normal senior companion, so im pretty excited. E. Cruz is
from Bolivia and has 4 months in the mission. He is a little guy and it
will be a difference going from E. Page to him. Im so excited to see
what happens and to just work. Now its time to put to practice what I
have learned and go and work to get something happening out there.
I
feel very blessed to have had the chance to be an Assistant and to work
very closely with President. It truly was a privileged and I have
learned so much about leading by example, phone calls, training
missionaries, giving correction and the list goes on and on. President
and Sister Nelson took us all out to dinner on Friday
to a sweet fish restaurant and gave us who are leaving some sweet ties
and even told E. Page and myself that they would love to have us as son
in laws IF they had daughters our age, but they told us we could wait 15
years for there granddaughters to grow up hahaha. I thought that was a
pretty good compliment. Ill miss the offices and miss working with
President.
Me and E Page feel very good about
what we have done here, last night we got all the numbers done for the
month of February and our mission baptized more this month than we have
since we have gotten here. When we got here each companionship was
baptizing .09 people each week and now were baptizing .16 people each
week which is almost double. The mission is turning around and is
starting to change the culture and the missionaries are starting to
realized that we are here to baptize!
We have received miracles in this area. We had 6 baptisms here in 3 changes and
we should have 8 baptisms this next change. We had 8 Inv. show up to
church again yesterday. Miguel Angel and his family came to a baptism
this weekend of a different area and came to church and are doing just
great. We are working with Sylvio to stop drinking. And our atheist is believing more and more in God each day. Josue (the kid of the less
active family) has a date for next week and his family is loving the
church and inviting there neighbors and the mom has invited one of her
friend to listen who is just golden and already has attended the church
twice. We said bye to Celsy and Marcela and Liam and Carlos yesterday.
We have no doubts they will stay strong in the gospel and will go to the
temple. Its been a good area.
So E. Page has
gotten so sick this week. Were pretty sure he got food poisoning or
something from something down here because he has been in the bathroom
all week and has lost 15 pounds this week.
Im
still peeling from my sweet sunburn that I got this past week and we
ended up banning going up this Volcano because its kinda dangerous. Tomorrow
is when all the changes go down and the elders and sisters will be
going from one area directly to the other. SO say an extra prayer that
we dont lose anyone haha.
The volcano hike!
