Just got done with our Zone Activity for
this change, i think that's my least favorite thing as zone leader,
planning the zone activities but today actually went pretty good and i
made some pretty rocking smoothies so it was pretty awesome.
One of those first week on the month with tons of meetings and informs for our zone. So on Thursday we had a special two hour zone conference to meet President Nelsen and his wife and on Friday
we had our all day meeting in their house. They are great and are
really just humble down to earth people who have a really strong
testimony. President Nelsen likes to scuba dive and is a foot doctor, and
his wife loves to run. They have 4 children and their two oldest are
inactive and when sister Nelsen was telling us that she just started
bawling so i think that hurts them a lot but they have a strong
testimony that one day missionaries will find them and bring them back
into the church. You can tell everything is just so new for them and a
bit overwhelming, their luggage was lost in the airport somewhere and
they didn't get their bags til 4 days after they got here. Pres Nelsen
has pretty good Spanish but sister Nelsen doesn't speak a work so i think
its going to be very hard for her so keep her in your prayers. Its
going to be i bit of a change and a new adjustment but im excited and
know that they have been called of god and have the keys to preside this
mission.
Our golden family came to church
yesterday!!!!! I don't know if i told you there names but its Nancy and
her husband Miguel and they have a 14 year old son named Francisco. The
last i told you in my letter is that there catholic pastor brother was
talking to them and they cancelled our lesson but all is well and they
are progressing beautifully. Nancy and Miguel are not married hahaha
just like everyone else here but we taught the law of chastity and they
really actually do have the desire to get married the only problem is
the money so we will see what we can do about that. They are really a
great family who has had lots of challenges in their life. They loved
church yesterday were super stoked and now we just need to put a
specific date for marriage.
Victoria, who came
to church last week did not come yesterday because she had to work
yesterday but she is trying to do all that is possible to change her
rest day to Sunday so that she can assist the church. She still has a date for baptism for the 8 of august.
We
found a new investigator this week named Thomas. He tells us hes a
member of this church and was baptized in his younger days but he also
said after his baptism they changed his name but he had a book of Mormon
so we have no clue if hes member or not, we couldn't find records on him
in the church. He is 90 years old and is the funniest person ever, he
has 36 kids, it is no joke, with 3 different wife's and he has a photo of
all of them haha He has super bad hearing problems so when we teach him
we seriously have to yell so he can hear us, he wanted to come to church
yesterday but that's the problem is that he is 90 years old and always
has to go to the hospital so he couldn't come yesterday.
That's about it for the investigators, on Wednesday
i get to go to Manantiales which was my second area with E Chacon my
son on the mission who is our district leader. I'm super stoked and will
get to visit Patty who was our baptism there. Family, Love you guys so
much, keep these three investigators in your prayers and president Nelsen and his wife. Love you guys and mom and dad, kill it at the star
valley half!!!!! PURE POWER
My area
Saying, "Goodbye"
