HAHA sorry i couldnt write last week, we
went to Zacatlan which is like the coolest area in the mission and the
farthest area in the mission to visit some of my comps converts. We left
at three in the morning and didn't get home till way late so im sorry
but hey, here i am so that is all good.
So you
guys know this but we ended up closing area because they combined our
zone and another zone because our mission is lowering a lot of numbers so
i was actually pretty stoked the only bad thing was leaving Enrique and Gaby but i know they will be strong in the gospel and im so grateful i
got to know them and help them come into this happiness.
So
right now I am still Zone leader in la libertad norte. I actually just
crossed the street to get here from las fuentes my last area hahahha so i
moved from La paz stake to La libertad, this is my third time in this
same stake haha La libertad is my home. Our area is super weird, it is
unlike any area ive had, all our area is is about 200 apartment
buildings that are exactly the same and dirt roads. I was a little
bummed when i saw my name on Tuesday
going here because i actually got to go on divisions here when i was a
youngin and this area hasn't had a baptism in 14 months but my whole
attitude has changed after this week. This week was actually the best
week of my misison teaching lessons to investigators so im super stoked. My companion is Estrade and he is from Guatemala and is actually the one Latino that got here when i got here. Hes super sweet and we get a long
great.
We put two baptismal dates this week,
one is for a woman named Victoria, who is super sweet and we found her
through a member. She is about 50 years old and still single and just
has a desire to change. She took off work yesterday to come to church
and loved it. She has a date for the 8 of August. hen we found an amazing family this week two and taught them Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and put a date with the mom and everything was just beautiful but then on Friday
her brother (a catholic Priest) came to the lesson and i made the worst
mistake of my life and i asked him a question and it just went
downhill from there. Needless to say they canceled our lesson on Saturday
and didn't come to church yesterday because Satan brother is crazy but
hey, we have a lesson with them today so we will see what happens.
This
area is chuck full of CRAZYS!!!!! haha ive had more weird experiences
this week than i have had my whole life. First off everybody here for
some reason thinks we can interpret there dreams, so the first few we
would tell them that we don't have that power to do that but then we received revelation (i think) to just tell them that there dream means
they need to get baptized, so far it hasn't worked but its funny haha.
Also yesterday we went and visited some members and they had a friend
over who is christian so we taught her, and i could tell from the start
she was a little weird because she just kept talking about the gift of
tongues and other weird stuff. So we ended the lesson and then she told
us that she felt impressed that she should pray for just me! hahaha so
were like go for it and then she got up and started walking around and
praying and then she came up behind me and started giving me a back
message and seriously prayed for me for 5 minutes, no joke about how i
was haunted as a child and had lots of bad experiences but that these
demons don't need to haunt me anymore. It was seriously so weird and was
so hard not to laugh but the bright side is that i was really in need of a
shoulder massage so I'll take.it.
Yesterday
we had a sweet class in priesthood about the talk (is it still
wonderful to you) in the last general conference. it starts off by
telling a story of a family that lived in France and would always visit
historical sites far away but then they had to move and realized they
never even visited the Eiffel tower. It relates it to the gospel about
many times we forget the great blessings in our lives. We forgot how important the scriptures and prayer and the great blessing to
participate in the sacrament each week, because many times these things
just become a routine. Sometimes i feel like that on the mission that
some days are just a routine but really i hope i can get to the point
where everyday is like the first day of my mission and that we always
remember the great blessings we have in our life.
So president nelson will arrive here tomorrow night and president Christensen will leave early Wednesday. Its going to be a weird change and a little hard for the mission. We will have a conference with Pres nelson on Thursday and then our Zone leader meeting with him on Friday
so i should know him pretty decent by the end of this week. Im so
grateful for president, in the changes he always talks and said that when president Eyring set him apart in his blessing he said that every
missionary and the president was called to work together for a specific
reason because they need each other, or something to learn. I know that's
so true and am so grateful for him and hermana christensen. They have
truly affected my life for the better.
Thats about it family, life is so good and i love where were at and i love being a misisonary. Have a great week. Love you!!!!
