It continues to be an adventure here in Tlaxcalla with the
ward and everything, its a bit slow right now but you know what, its
all good and life is good and im lovin it. I always think about the
three things it said when i got set apart. To be obedient, work hard and
to have fun. I finally think i am doing all three of them: All my
mission i have been very obedient and have worked my hardest but not
always have i had fun. But i am finally having fun, that is one thing i
am learning, life is just so much better when your havin fun and smilin
no matter what happens or how your ward is and stuff like that. I love
the quote that says ¨( Life is ten percent what happens to me and 90
percent how i react to it) I love that quote and life is just good, im
havin fun and you always have the choice right when you wake up to
decide if today is going to be a good day or a bad day and at that
moment you just decide to be happy no matter what happens and to just
have fun. I'm enjoying training, and my little son, who is like four feet
tall, is pretty chill and we enjoy each other.
This
week we had our Christmas conference and it was flat out sweet. We ate
lots of good food and it was American and it was like the best thing
ever cause its good to change from this Mexican chicken diet. We talked a
ton about traditions. And president and his wife really just stressed
the importance that a family has traditions because that is what unites a
family together and keeps them close. He said that no matter what, you are
going to have traditions; but the thing is if you want it to be a good
tradition that your kids learn or a bad tradition. For example if on Christmas Eve all you do is watch tv that's what your kids are going to do
every Christmas eve, watch tv. I am so thankful for our family
traditions. It was so funny because in this Christmas conference we did
some of the traditions of president and their traditions are like the
exact same as ours so it was flat out sweet. First we sang Christmas
songs while playing musical instruments like we use to do and after we
even played bunko hahahah so that was sweet but it wasn't as intense as
when our family plays and they even had a prize for the most losses and i
almost won that prize.
This week here was the
big holiday celebration of Guadalupe who like all the Catholics worship
and it is flat out weird, all of them had their Guadalupe doll with them
this week and they do some weird stuff down here haha needless to say
president made a rule where we had to be in our house early a couple of
the nights because i guess its kinda dangerous for missionaries to be
walking the streets.
We continue trying
to find some new investigators and working with the old ones but their
not really progressing. One of our investigators named Cesar
told us he has no problem with getting baptized in our church because he
knows its true but that he will still assist the catholic church
because that one is true to hahaha we keep trying to teach about
authority and that Christ established one church but its not really
getting to him. We did find one new investigator this week named Irene. She's like 40 years old and is the church of the seventh day or
something like that but she is pretty sweet and likes to learn so
hopefully she can progress and come to church. Our lessons are so funny
right now because i only have 6 months and i probably have the Spanish
of a 4 year old but can function here finally and my comp is a newbie
and is frightened to death to talk, so its pretty funny haha but it's a
good experience.
Mexican corn.
Teaching with Santa (look in his hands).
