Life is good, the mission is good and I'm
lovin it every day. I can't believe I have over six months in and that I
almost have my first Christmas down in the mission. I'm lovin it here,
its a great city and we're just working hard but not seeing much
improvement but hey its all good. I love the quote that "the mission isn't
the best two years of my life; but its the best two years for my life".
Its true 100 percent because sometimes the mission is just flat out hard
and your ward is all zombies. We have had 13 baptisms in these two areas
the last year and all but one are less actives. haha That tells you a
little bit about this ward but hey I'm so grateful just to be a
missionary and I think the most baptisms you have on your mission is
because you become converted on your mission and that will affect many
generations to come. I just love thinking about all the stuff I'm
learning here like talking on the phone to people in Spanish, because
before the mission, I was terrified to talk to people on the phone at all! I have also learned how to study for 4 hours straight where, before the mission, there is
no way I could concentrate that long. The mission is so good and for so
many reasons, I love it.
We have been working tons with Fausta and Reyaldo and they are just so sweet. This week we put a date for baptism with them for Feb 7
butttttt.... the next day we found a person in the ward who is like a
specialist in divorce and things like that and we took her to our next
lesson and had her talk to them and the bad news is it will take 4
months until they can properly get divorced with the wife that Rynaldo
had like 20 years ago and then these guys can get married. So the bad
news is we will have to move their date back which is sad because they
are so ready and we have just had some sweet lessons where I have felt
and I know they felt the spirit so strongly. I love them and they always
give us tea every time were there but don't worry, this tea isn't bad tea!
haha
So we are with the other two elders in our
ward tons cause we do lots of stuff with them and always eat with them
and I don;t know what it is but this week the drunk guys just love
finding us and just love to talk to us and tell us how much they love us
and then they always end up crying about their lives and then we hug
and stuff like that and give him a word of wisdom pamphlet hahaha, that
has seriously happened like four times this week, they are so funny and
their is never a dull moment here.
My first 6
months have been crazy because of all my changes and it continues to be
crazy. This week we found out that Elder Hamula, one of the other elders
in my ward, is going to be a secretary and must go to training for like
11 days before the regular changes so we will be in a trio with his
companion for a little while haha and we will be working both areas. It
will be a little interesting because his comp is a flat out little
interesting to say the least, and I am going to finish his training
for two weeks so I am like adopting another son; but I am really excited
to work both the areas because all the members live in the other
area so that should be fun and I get to manage both the telephones
woo woo what up!!!
Life is good and I love you
guys so much. I will Skype you guys on Christmas at about 5 here so i
think 4 Utah time. I love you guys so much
and i love life, things couldn't be better. Can't wait to see your beautiful faces on Thursday.
