It has been kinda a tough week,
my new companion is Elder Chacon and he is from Guatemala and is 19 years old. All of his family are members and he is pretty chill and has a good
attitude about all of this. SO the thing i was most afraid about
training and opening an area was if the last missionaries did a good job
or not. So the first thing i did when we got here on Tuesday
night was go to the area book and see who our investigators are. TO my disappointment my nightmare came true hahaha and we had one investigator
that they have had a lesson with in the past month.
I
know it's going to be slow this change and were just going to focus on
finding new people cause right now we have that one and we contacted him
and he told us he is out of town working in Veracruz for the next
twenty days. We have finally been able to get a list of all the members
in the ward and will start just by trying to gain their trust and to see
if we can get references from them. The hard thing about this area is
that in our ward we have another set of missionaries and our area is
like the Centro of Tlaxcalla where all the shops and the life are but
their area is where most of all the houses are so they have like 80
percent of the members in their area. But its all good and what i have
learned is all you can do is work and be obedient and what comes,
comes.
About this time of year last year when
my senior year of basketball wasn't going as I had hoped, mom sent me a
message to listen to a song and it says..."Its easy to be a leader, to be
excited, to be first in line, when things are going great. The test is,
when you battle through tough times, when things aren't perfect, where
do you stand." I love that quote and this is a great time just to stay
strong and just keep working and what comes comes.
We
have been so lost this week haha. Let's just say we left an hour early
for church yesterday and we still got lost and missed sacrament haha
but i have had some cool experiences with all these getting lost
experiences. In our last district meeting we talked about specific
prayer and that we need to pray for specific things and exactly what we
need. SO one night we were way lost and it was 9:30 (the time that we need to be in our house) and we had no clue where we were so i just a said a little prayer that someone would find us and then
seriously ten seconds later a car pulled over and told us to get in so
we did and he wasn't a member or anything and he just said he had an
impression to give us a ride haha so that was flat out sweet.
We
are in a ward here and it is very interesting. It is a very old ward
and they all remind me of zombies. I thought about turning off the
lights in church because i wanted to see if they would all fall over and
start to sleep. But the good thing is the stake pres talked in church
and told
them about how they need to start helping us out so we
will see what happens.
All is well, i am
learning so much especially right now as im training and have to do most
all things. I love you guys so much and have a great week.
