We
got some really sweet news yesterday and this week we might actually
have two baptisms yipeeeee. Because one of the hermana's investigators
who has a baptism date the same day as Guadalupe moved to our area
because in order to get baptized she had to move out of where she was
living because she was living with a guy and they aren't married and shes
going to live with her mom and her mom lives in our area. So she is
ours!!!!!!!! haha I think this is a blessing from god because of all my
great patience I've had with the hermanas!!! I'm super excited and hopefully
everything works out.
We started teaching
Belen this week. The good thing about Belen is that she has already
assisted church five times like 5 months ago and she had a baptism this
past May but at the last second she backed out. But this week we called
her and she said she would like to start the discussions again so that's
super good because she obviously feels something and knows this church
is true.
I always like to tell a funny story of a week cause we have lots.
Anyways
this week we were helping Chalu one of the brothers unload cinder blocks
form his truck. Chalu for work just works on cars and has tons of car
parts everywhere and random windshields just sitting everywhere. Anyways
my companion was in the truck and he would pass the cinder blocks to me
and i would walk a little ways and give them to Chalu. Anyways my comp
is sometimes a dink and he couldn't understand why he couldn't throw the cinder blocks to me. I kept telling him he was crazy and that it was very
hard to catch a cinder block. Anyways he wanted to show me how it was
done so we switched spots and I'm like whatever and threw a cinder block
to him and of course he didn't catch it and it smashed a windshield haha
it was pretty funny
I have almost been on the mission for three months. and I have learned lots:
Number 1 I have learned to sleep on my back which is really cool because my whole life I've been trying but i couldn't.
Number 2 I have learned that Mexico uses km and not miles so the many times I've thought we were going 100 we were actually going 60
Number 3, I have learned to eat like a Latino because they honestly stuff
themselves for lunch and eat very little for the rest of the day but I
have learned to stuff myself but I'm still starving twenty minutes later
Number
4, I have learned to get very creative with the food I buy, I have
pretty much tried making everything possible with the food I buy every
week. I make some dang good banana Oreo pancakes.
Number 5- I
have lots of time to think on my 40 minute walks everyday and
oftentimes my mind goes off about food and I have found out the three
foods I miss the most are milk meat and treats. Honestly the milk here
is so gross and is way worse then powdered milk you don't even have to
refrigerate it. Meat because all we eat is chicken and treats because
honestly treats don't exist here.
And number 6 I have found
out the families that I always get sick after eating with them and I
have now figured out to always carry toilet paper with me because
sometimes the food just goes strait through my body.
Family I love you guys so much and the church is true. There's no place id rather be then right here in Mexico serving the lord.
