Family!!!!
Was a dang good week in Tlachichuca
Mexico.AND.........Guadalupe went swimming and is one of the newest
members of the church. Here's the story. SO this is what happened, last Monday we searched for him but with no success and we were pretty
bummed. On tuesday
we had a zone conference in Puebla but that night we called Chalo and
he said he found Guadalupe and that he wanted to get baptized on Thursday so we were way happy. On Wednesday we had a lesson with him and wanted to know what happened the past Saturday and he said that he was sick but we think he was just a little scared. And then on Thursday
we were able to have his baptism and it was way sweet even though he
showed up´an hour late. But honestly it was a great experience, the last
three months haven't been the easiest but that one baptism made it all
worth it and made the whole mission worth it. I know this church is true
so much, i know nobody would get baptized because me and my comp are
super dang good teachers because trust me were not anything special
and i know that he got baptized because this church is true and he felt
the spirit. Now its just like sports once you get that first big win you
want that second one that much more but hopefully we can have a little
more success with that second baptism then i did with the big wins in
sports haha. So he was confirmed yesterday in church and the whole week
we have been stressing with him that he needs to show up at church early
because he has a problem with being on time to things. I'm happy to say
that he was only five minutes late but it was all ok because we always
start church like ten minutes late so it all worked out perfectly.
We
had a sweet week with Enrique and a really sweet experience. So Enrique
is my favorite and a flat out stud. Hes been having family issues with
his dad and i just think he really likes the familiness he feels in our
gospel and with the members. He's a really good friend with the two
brothers. He came to Guadalupe's baptism and to our church activity on Thursday. We had a lesson with him on Friday
and were always talking about baptism with him but its always kinda a
joke. He says the problem is that he hasn't really felt anything. SO
after that we've been praying to please help Enrique know that this
church is true. We called him on Saturday
to see what he was up to and to confirm church yesterday. He told us he
was out of town for five days on work and was really sorry about
church.This is the cool part....... But after he said...Don't worry i
will come to church every week after this week and i want you guys to
start organizing a baptism for me because i had a dream. We were so
happy about that and it was a super great testimony about the power of
prayer and that this church is the bomb.com. I'm super excited to talk to him when he gets back and to ask about this dream. Hopefully all works out.
Now
that Guadalupe is baptized and besides Enrique were trying to find new
people because honestly our other investigators like being bums for some
reason. So pray that we can find some new people.
We had a church activity on Thursday
and it was the usual church activity around here of eating food and
people singing weird songs. But it started at six but nobody showed up
til eight so Enrique has been wanting to play ball with me so we played
some 4 on 4 basketball and it was way fun even though it was the biggest
jungle ball you've ever seen. They all think I'm pretty dang good because I'm American and can shoot and they think I'm in the NBA. Its pretty fun
playing sports with Latinos cause I'm finally the biggest and strongest
one haha now i know what Shaq feels like.
Besides
that all is good here. Mom remember those beautiful eye lashes i once
had well now they are like half as long because this morning i was
lighting the boiler which is for our hot water and i don't know what
happened but a big burst of flames came out and singed my eyelashes and
some of my hair but its all good cause i got a haircut today . Dad I'm
so dang proud of you, i never thought it would actually happen. you are a
beast and truly ARE BIG DADDY STUD MUFFIN. As for the Spanish dad it is
getting a little better but still has a long way to go. Roo way to go
beating Park City. I'm so proud and you always need to beat them because i don't
like them very much. I love you guys and have a great week.
