I hit my one month mark here this week. This place is
getting better with each day and i think that i am finally adjusted to
the change. Sometimes this place reminds me of a Mexican Orangeville ha
because we are always cramming in cars and riding in back of little
trucks. This week even we spent a night cruising around on a moped, i don't know how it was possible but all three of us fit on this little
moped ha it was quite the experience. Last week was rain and this week
was hail here, it was crazy and all the Latinos thought it was awesome
cause it looked like an inch of snow was on the ground and my comp made
sure to get pictures of him with it.
Yesterday at church Guadalupe could not make it
because he had to go to Puebla to do something. But were still going to
try keeping his baptismal date for September six or seventh. He is just
flat out awesome. He doesn't know how to read and he says hes confused
by some of the stuff that we teach but he knows that this church is true
and he says he just absolutely loves learning more about the word of
god.
The highlight this week was Pedro our investigator
flat out took off. It was way awesome before hand he didn't really take
anything serious and would never keep our commitments that we would
leave. But the Lord must of touched him hard this week because our three
lessons we had with him this week were just awesome. His family is
really catholic and he was just telling us about how he's been having
doubts about the catholic church and how they do some weird crazy stuff.
But needless to say he came to church yesterday and that was sweet. I
love when Latinos come to church cause throughout the week it's like they
never get ready or anything but when Sunday comes around they look way good and nice and clean and clean clothes.
Our little group here of a ward is doing good. I just love how tight they are. Every Monday
they all have family home evening together and have a lesson and of
course food and they invite our investigators. Faulstino didn't come to
church yesterday but he has been to the past two family home evenings
and i think he really likes them.
On Saturday
we had a meeting in Puebla for all the new missionaries and the
trainers to make sure the trainers weren't being bums. It was way good to
see everyone and everyone is doing awesome. Except Elder Richards who
already had his appendix taken out here so he is resting at his house in Puebla and couldn't make it. It made me feel better that none of them
has had a baptism either. I just want one soooo bad ha. But Elder Page
told me this really sad and funny story. So, their are dogs everywhere
here, and some dogs are flat out mean. Many times i use my umbrella to
protect me from the crazy dogs. But anyways dogs are always on top of
the building here and i guess they were walking and this nasty mean dog
was going crazy and he was like two stories up. Elder Page comp was
like..what ya gonna do dog and this dog jumped from two stories high to
try getting them and died. Sad but funny at the same time because its OK that the mean nasty dogs go somewhere else.
That's about all for this, i have to admit the first
couple weeks were tough but it's getting better. I am now starting to
participate more in our lessons and make contacts and stuff. I love this
church and this is where i want to be. Its great.
Dad, yes I've gotten your last two dear elders on the computer,
still none besides that. Maybe you should just write because i received
my first letter here on Saturday
so that only took like a month and good luck on your marathon, kill it.
Mom, that rain picture had nothing on the rain here hahahaha Bo good
luck at usu, Dayton and Brooke, congrats on the Hunter man walking. And Roo good luck in high school. That is crazy that youre in high school and
keep playing tennis and practice lots so you can give me a challenge in
22 months. Love you guys.
Cado has now challenged Bo and Roo to do their wash like he does his! This is good for this boy!
