Done with my two month mark, less than twenty two because i think i come home like May 25. This
weeks highlights were that Enrique and Guadalupe both came to church
yesterday so that is freaking awesome and they only need three more to
make five. Guadalupe is an investigatoror we found this week and he is
way money. He just showed up at church last week and wants to get taught
like every day. He use to be a major alcoholic but for the past six
months he has been clean and is just looking for direction in his life.
This week we are going to try setting up a date for baptism with him
because unfortunately this past week we didn't because Laura always
seemed to be sick when we went to visit.
Enrique also showed up to church yesterday, his fam
is super catholic and he has questions about everything. We've totally
started over in this area, right now every single person that we are
teaching is a new investigator. I really don't know what the missionaries
before us did here, not much haha but its all good and this area is
finally starting to pick up.
Not too much crazy happened this week because my comp is district leader so we had to go to puebla on wednesday for meetings and then again on thursday
for interviews with the president. WHen we go to puebla it's an all day
thing so we really only got like three days to work this week. Our
mission president is awesome though and just kept tellng me not to worry
about the language and it will come. He asked me what i needed to work
on and i said patience. And it's amazing the great opportunity the Lord
has given me to work on patience being in a district full of hermanas! I
have honestly never seen people walk so slow in my life. It's like the
walk you would have if you were at a zoo observing animals. Let's just
say that we traveled as a district for interviews and we should
of gotten home around 8 at night and we got home at 11 haha, hopefully i can get better at this attribute.
I
had a really cool experience this week. Really the only bad thing
besides not being able to speak this language is i miss you guys like
crazy, because you're the best fam ever. SO anyways on tuesday
night i was praying and i was just like..Lord i need to know for sure
my fam is going to be all fine and dandy while i am gone. Then
scriptures just started going through my head and D&C 31:4 stuck out to
me and i decided to go look to see what it was. I had no clue what that
scripture was. So to my dissapointment i read the verse and saw that it
had nothing to do with my family but....then i saw in the same column as
verse 4 i had two things marked. One was your family will be blessed and
the other was your familiy shall live or something like that. It was way
sweet. Not to mention this is the same day we taught Guadalupe for the
first time and i was wearing Grandpa Law's lucky tie.
'Im starting to realize i dont know how im going to
eat this food for two years. Puebla is the biggest consemer of chicken
in mexico i was told. The only thing we eat every day is either weird
soups with chicken or chicken and beans and corn or the mixture of both
haha. Oh ya and lots and lots of tortillas, i probably eat 8 tortiallas
every lunch that we have with members. So everyweekend we get something
called a jumbo here where we live. It is the craziest thing ever. It is
like a mixture of hotdog and a hamburger. it has two hamburgers, two
hotdogs a full avacoda, potatoes, peppers, carrots, ham, bacon cheese,
and tons of sauces. Its pretty much what i imagine we will eat in the Celestial Kingdom.
Mom, i don't know how to do pics, my comp is good and
is very good to me. He is from somewhere in mexico. Dad, no i have not
gotten any mail whatsoever here yet, i have no clue how the mail works
or how dear elder works around here and i think the zone leaders just
give it to us. Roo, holy smokes, taking after your bro in the stock
show. Rest of fam, i love you guys, and stay awesome and read your
scriptures. Because the church is true.
