Another week down here in good ole Mexico. So yesterday was the official start of Semana Santa (when the Catholics actually go to church and just have parties and drink and don't work or don't have school) So needless to say like the whole world left on vacation meaning our Investigators so we only had two in church yesterday so that was a little bummer but hey, we go forward.
So here's a quick updated on the Inv.
Our group in Tlapacoya is doing great. All still have there date for the 9th and the assistance's to the church will not be the problem. Getting them the lessons will be the hardest thing. We had planned to do it each Wednesday and Sunday but either the weather is crazy here or the weather is crazy there and we have not been able to have signal to do our Skype calls. We hoppppppe we can get them some lessons this week in.
Valeria (the daughter of the recent convert) is doing great. We are visiting and shes keeping all her commitments and coming to church and just loves it. She has really made a bond with the young women that we have here. Today all the youth left earlyin the morning to go to EFY. And she went to so we are super stoked and are sure she wil have a great time and feel the spirit.
We have been searching for lots of less active families here. This week we found one, the moms name is Lupita and she is seperated from her husband and she has two kids. Brayan and Janethzi. The mom and Brayan are both members but Janethzi is 9 years old and has not been baptized, SCORE!!!!! So were pretty excited for her, she hasnt attented school in 3 years for a tumor that she has but she seems absolutely normal. She has a date for the 7 of May.
We also found a sweet family. Olivia is the wife and the husband is named Raul and they have a daughter named Karen. We were just knocking doors this week and she opened up and let us right in. We have had some sweet and spiritual lessons with them and they all three have dates for the 30th of April. They were all ready to come to church but right before it the dad got a call that they needed to go visit there grandma who is super sick who lives super far away. SO they will be gone for a week but hopefully they come back soon.
We have some more Inv. but we will see if they progress or not. That's the one thing i have learned. It takes time to have a good area and get lots of good Inv. coming to church and progressing. We are happy for the progress that we have made in the 3 weeks.
Vanessa and Martha, everything is the same but we fasted with them on Saturday so now were waiting for a miracle and for the dad to have a change of heart.
This past Thursday we had Zone Conference so it was great to see the office boys and President and Sister Nelson. It is kind of a sad time for the mission as four missionaries got sent home for a problem that happened when I was still in the offices but more details got found out. We talked a lot about obedience and it was soooo powerful. Sister Nelson shared the story of the boy who hiked the mountain and when he got to the top found a rattlesnake. The snake talked to him and asked if he could take him down the mountain. At first the boy was first and said I know what you are and I know that you will bite me but the Rattlesnake kept insisting and finally he gave in. Right when they got down the hill, the rattlesnake bit him and the boy asked why. The snake said that he knew what he was right when he picked him up. The boy died. That's exactly what happened here, it started with simple phone calls without getting permission and lead to 4 missionaries in there houses.
So yesterday at church, we have this crazy old guy who is the Elders quorum Pres and he is just nuts. I have never heard so much apostasy in my life haha. Maybe it was a good thing not many Inv. Came.
Thats about it fam. Life is so good and time is cruising. I love life so much and will truly miss being a missionary. Love you guys.
