January 25, 2016

Hey family!!!! Seems like a while since Ive wrote so I guess I will give y yall (as Dayton would say) a good letter. SO we just got back from Costco, its the end of the month and we've done super good on money this month so we went and had a good time at Costco and I bought a lot of Peanut Butter so I'm pretty stoked.

So just real fast a little more update from the last week about Eduardo's baptism. It was such a sweet experience and President Nelson and Sister Nelson even came to see it and we sang a special musical number with them and just brought the spirit so that was sweet. Our ward mission leader baptized him and it was just a very special experience and it is just so great to see a mom and a dad both become members because we know this life is hard and Satan's going crazy trying to attack the families so it was great to see that both the Mom (6 months ago) and the Dad could become Members so that this family can be a happy and strong and eternal family one day and a great example for there daughter. The gospel is good!

We had a super good week, on Monday we received the news all day and Tuesday we had our first run of changes without a changes meeting. We did a transition change stage where we didn't have a meeting but we had a few different stations that people would come to throughout the mission so it worked out pretty well. This next change though the missionaries will have to go to one area directly to another so it is just going to be a joy trying to figure it out haha.

So this weekend if everything works out like we have planned we should have two more baptisms on Saturday. First is Marsala (the daughter of Celsy) she is progressing so good and had her interview yesterday and passed. We visited her on Saturday and just had a sweet lesson with her. First off we got there and told us that her and her husband (who wasn't really her husband) had already separated so we were super stoked and she  was very worried about Coffee in her work environment because everybody drinks it, so one morning she was in her little group of friends and they all had there coffee and they asked her why she wasn't drinking and she said because in my religion we cant drink coffee so that we can protect her body, and then they were fine with it and then the next day she showed up and all of them decided not to drink coffee either haha. She is so ready and so prepared. Its amazing to see that you find one person and then one leads to the other.

Our other baptism for Saturday is for Ramon, he originally had his date for the 6th of Feb, but he was doing great and had 4 assistences and came to Eduardo's baptism so we asked him if he felt comfortably moving it up a week and he said that that would be great. His ex wife and 4 children are all less actives and in the past he has just wanted nothing to do with the church but now its just so m much different he says and he always tells us that this is his time! He is going to be a great example to his family and hopefully they can reactivate too because right now he is attending the church by himself. He is so funny, and has such a hard time remembering our names so we were talking about his baptism and asked him he wanted to baptize him and he said the Chinese guy who has really skinny eyes hahaha that would be E. Lambson one of the Secs, who is from the Philippines. We thought that was pretty funny.

We are having great success with Sylvio too (he was the one who got to church drunk yesterday) hahaha he has been a drunk all his life and this Gospel is just changing him. He has not drank in a whole week since he came to church drunk and he said that hasn't happened for a really long time. We were teaching the plan of Salvation and were talking about the importance of this life and he told us that he is just tired of living this way and that it was his time to change so that he could be an example to his daughter. He has a date for the 6 of Feb sow e are stoked.

We have some other Inv. that are doing good and assisting but these are the top 3.

ON Tuesday we had the missionaries leaving night thingy and I got my third Marriage talk so I'm pretty sure ill be married in the first week of when i get home hehehe NOT but anyways President said something that I really like he said  that our life will be exactly how we want it to be, because if you know what you want then you will fill your time doing those things to achieve it. I really liked that because all of us are wanting to reach the Celestial Kingdom but how many of us are really filling our time with those things to take us there. Hns. Nelson then said, before you turn on that T.V just think, did I read my scriptures or say my prayers etc. Good life Lesson

Yesterday I gave a talk in our ward on the Atonement and I think I did a pretty good job. I think were finally starting to gain the trust of the Members here. I think one of our biggest change we've made is the reputation of the Assistants. Because in the past they would pretty much chill in the offices all day and didnt work in the area very much. I feel like though we are working in our Area tons and truly have an example of what an area should look like.

President came with us for 4 hours on Thursday in our area to find out how to Contact hahahah IT was so funny but he got a lot better after 4 hours of practice. I just love Pres and hes truly just trying to give it his all to change the culture of this mission into a baptizing mission.

Last Sunday we had a sweet fireside called Why I Believe where 4 recent converts talked about there story of how they became to believe and there experiences and President also talks for a little bit. Celsy was on of the speakers and did a great job. But the best thing is that I saw Enrique and Gabby there (the family we baptized when I was in Las Fuentes like 10 months ago) and they are doing great. They told me that they have a date in June to go to the Temple and that I better be there so we will see what happens but it made me pretty excited.

Were getting ready for the Apostle to come in a month, and we are putting together a Choir to sing a special Musical and President even picked all us office staff to be in it even though I cannot sing. I guess its good to have inside connections. Mom, will you sent me the blessings of G Call and G Law, im excited to read them. Also that is super sweet about Union, and its super sweet that they are dominating. Maybe we didn't win much but I can at least say I practiced with the kids who won ahhahahhaha. That about it family, life is so good and I'm just happy. Week one is finished and then Im thinking me and E Page will drop down together because we at least want 2 changes in the field but we will see what happens. Something interesting is that we are receiving pure sisters in  the next 6 months as of right now bu that can still change and nowt a single Elder. So we will not be training again. Life is good though and the church is so true and I just love it!!
