Another great week down here in
Mexico!. Our schedule these past couple weeks have been pretty chill
cause Presidents family has been out here so he didn't want to do much
while they were here. We got to work again this week a lot in our area
and it is just great and we are seeing miracles.
So
First off some bad news, so we haven't been able to find Victor Leon for
like two weeks and hes been in Mexico City with his family, so we did 3
way divisions yesterday with the secretaries and I guess they found him
and he said he doesn't want anything AWHHHHHH im pretty sure that his
family just brainwashed him these past two weeks, it made us all pretty
sad and we will just give him a little time and then go back and try
again.
Now for some good news, so we are probably going to have a baptism this Saturday
of Eduardo. He is the husband of a recent convert who was baptized
about 6 months ago and the problem that he has had is that he worked in
Tlaxcala (another state) and would work for like 6 weeks on and then
come home for a couple weeks. But now he just got back and he has quit
his job and has decided that its time that he is here with his family
and that its time to baptize himself. He came to church yesterday and
then we have his interview on Thursday and baptism on Saturday
so we hope everything works out. Its amazing to see how this family has
changed, like two months ago his relationship with his wife was just
kinda bad and they weren't too tight and didn't even really talk to each other. Now there all lovey dovey and talk and are reading the book
of Mormon together and all that good stuff and it is just sweet!!!
Were making great progress with Marsela (the daughter of Celsy) she now has 3 assistences and has a date for the 30th of January
still. She has changed so much and just knows this is true and has seen
the impact it has had in her family. We taught about the law of
chastity yesterday cause we were worried that her and her husband were
not married and sure enough we were right and she said no matter what
she will get baptized on the 30th and if they have to separate
themselves and live in different places for a while that that's find because her husbands papers are a mess or something. Celsy is just like
pure power in these lessons and is just always bearing her testimony. We
have some good news that they have decided to stay in their house here
haha so they are not going anywhere. Were super stoked about that and
the next Sunday
we have a fireside where 4 recent converts tell there conversion story
and then President speaks so she will be one and she is all excited and
practicing and everything.
We are making sweet
progress with an Investigator named Ramon (i don't know if i talked
about him last week) But he is about 50 years old and is the dad of some
less actives but in the past just hasnt wanted anything. Its true that
people truly have there time that God has prepared them for. He has come
to church the last two Sundays and is reading and doing everything. He
loves the church and last week was fast and testimony meeting he told us
after that he would really like to be up there one day with his own
testimony, we thought that was kinda neat. He is a mechanic and actually
has a problem with getting high off of paint which is something ive
never ran across on my mission yet so were trying to keep him busy and
keep giving him chances to feel of the spirit so that he can overcome
this addiction.
This week was Concilio and Hna.
Nelson did a talk in Spanish for the first time since shes been here
without a translator so that was just awesome. She talked about
continuous revelation and the great blessing it is to have a prophet who
sees and understands just so much more than we do. Then we revealed for
the first time that our mission would no longer have a changes meeting
haha and got quite a reaction. We've been working on this quite a bit and
the first plan we did got shot down by the area presidency and they
want the missionaries just going straightt to there area to the next area
with no meeting up or anything and its fine that people travel alone. It
will be an interesting change and will be super fun figuring this all
out. We have changes next week but we got permission to do our first
plan and then the next change the missionaries will go to one area to
the next. We basically told the leadership council that the missionaries
who liked to work would like this change and those who are looking for
ways to get out of work will not really be to fond of it haha also, part
of the change will be that we do everything on Monday instead of Tuesday and the missionaries leaving will get home on Tuesday instead of Wednesday so i will actually fly home the 24 and not the 25 haha, just to let ya know.
Thats
about it Family. Life is so good and im so grateful to be a missionary
and to be learning the stuff im learning. I just bought some new shoes
AGAIN so hopefully they will last till the end. Love you guys so much!
