Whew..... Where do i even begin. first of all the
keyboard that i am typing on is different that a regular one so im
having some difficulties typing so if i mispell lots of words you know
why. Mexico is crazy, its been a big change form living in Utah my whole
life. The driving here is nuts and i dont know how people dont run into
eachother more often. Their are dogs, turkeys, chickens, sheep, cats
roaming everywhere just chillin. Three quarters of our misión is in
puebla and the other quarter is in the country places i guess. I am in
the country three hours away from puebla in a city called serdan. Their
are two sets of sister missionaries in the city of serdan then meand my
comp are in charge of three Little towns that are like thirty minutes
away form where we live so we have to ride a bus everyday. We are
assigned to a Little branch of members in a city called tlaxichuca or
something like that. The members are really solid and are relly good to
us. Theirs prob like 40 members who came to church yesterday.
Our área
is kinda slow right now, my trainer who has been out a year says this is
his most difficult area. We have a couple investigators but their
really not progressing and the missionaries have been teaching them for
like six months. So we have been trying to focus on getting some new
people and weve been contacting a lot. I now know why bo was always
teaching less actives, we teach tons of lessons to less actives. I guess Latinos just have a hard time staying in church or something. Our
investigators have to come to church five times before they can be
baptized so that's kinda a bummer. We did our wash today and luckily a
member had a washing machine but not a dryer so i got to hang all of my
clothes outside which was pretty fun.
The people where we are
assigned literally have nothing, they usually have a blanket for the
door and a Little one room house with dirt floors. We usually sit on a
bed when we teach lessons. I still haven't gotten sick or anything and i
feel great. I take a vitamin and a pro-biotic each day and that's it. The
food here is so far pretty good but my comp says we haven't had the bad
stuff yet. Ive never eaten so many tortillas in my life as i did this
week. We always have some kind of soup and then something in tortillas.
They eat their main meal at 2 o'clock
so that is when we eat so by the time night rolls around im pretty
hungry. Ive already lost the weight i put on in the mtc which is a
bummer. I know im going to love this place once i can speak the
language.
This week was hard, i honestly cant understand anything the
people say. All i know is when i get home im going to be super good at
gestures cause that's pretty much what its been this week. They talk so
fast and it all sounds like a big mumble. My comp speaks no English so
its kinda hard right now. I get to go on splits on Wednesday with a English zone leader so im pretty excited about that. Besides the language
being really hard everything is pretty good. The church is way
different down here. Yesterday was the first time i didnt go to church
in a regular building, our branch just meets in this random room haha.
The wards had a talent show on Thursday
and it was the weirdest thing. Just imagine papa Dave law dressed in a
mouse costume dancing for two hours, that was basically what it was.
This place is crazy but i know i will love it. The Little kids love me
here and ive already given away my toys that i brought here. I love you
guys and hope all is well. Church is true
Prayer list- Julia to get married
